Ex-goalkeeper of “Chicago” and “Donbass” Leighton ended his career

Goalkeeper Michael Leighton completed his playing career at the age of 39, reports Complete Hockey News on Twitter. The last goalkeeper club was Syracuse, the colors of which Leighton defended in the American Hockey League.

Leighton spent a rich playing career in the National Hockey League, playing for the Nashville Predators, Chicago Blackhawks, Philadelphia Flyers and Carolina Hurricanes. With Philadelphia, the goalkeeper made it to the Stanley Cup finals in 2010, and the pilots lost to Chicago with a score of 2-4.

The goalkeeper also has experience playing in the Continental Hockey League, where in the 2013/14 season he played for the Ukrainian club Donbass. Later, Leighton was supposed to go to Sochi, but did not come to the club's location.
